I was born in Kyoto, the ancient capital and artistic center of Japan. After studying accounting, IT system administration and programming in high school, I moved to Seattle to pursue design. While studying art and polishing my English, I graduated from Seattle Central College’s Graphic Design and Illustration program in 2006.
After enjoying the rain and drinking more than enough coffee, I moved to New York City to broaden my skill set and enhance my design experience. I became the primary graphic designer at a design studio in Manhattan and worked full time until 2009. After a brief stint in Barcelona, under the shadow of Gaudi and Miró, I am now once again back in New York, together with my new husband.
While I am skilled in a broad range of media, my true passion is for packaging and typographic design. I truly believe that good design has the power to impact the way people think and act, and effect positive change. As such, I am planning to further my studies in environmentally sustainable packaging design. My goal is not only to explore new and creative design strategies, but also to contribute to the green movement through eco-friendly, sustainable design.
For further information about my skill set or a service I can provide, please feel free to contact me (I am fluent in English and Japanese). I am looking forward to hearing from you!
